Restoring Dignity in Their Final Chapter
Project Overview
Every person deserves to age with dignity, safety, and care. Yet in Nairobi and surrounding counties, thousands of elderly citizens—many over the age of 70—are homeless or living in unsafe, dilapidated shelters, neglected and forgotten.
MFWAFO Foundation is building Kenya’s first Retirement Village for Vulnerable Elderly Citizens, a purpose-built, community-centered sanctuary that will resettle over 2,000 elderly men and women in need.

Why It Matters
- Over 60% of older Kenyans lack access to social protection.
- Many are left without caregivers, income, or shelter in their final years.
- Poor housing and lack of healthcare significantly shorten life expectancy and increase vulnerability.
We believe aging should be marked by comfort, community, and care — not loneliness, poverty, or suffering.
What We’re Building
The Retirement Village will be a fully integrated elder-care community, thoughtfully designed to meet both physical and emotional needs:
- 🏡 Individual Homes: Safe, dignified housing units with essential amenities
- ❤️ Communal Spaces: Gardens, activity centers, and shared areas for social connection
- 🏥 On-site Healthcare: Basic clinics, mobile care units, and mental health support
- 🛐 Spiritual & Recreational Care: Peaceful spaces for worship, reflection, and joy
