Real Lives. Real Change.

Behind every statistic is a story. At MFWAFO Foundation, our greatest success is not in the numbers—it’s in the lives forever changed.

These stories represent the beating heart of our mission: elders rediscovering dignity, youth breaking free from addiction, women launching businesses, and students daring to dream again. Each one is a testament to the power of compassion, the possibility of transformation, and the impact of your support.

“They Left Me to Die. MFWAFO Gave Me Life.”
At 84, Mama Teresa was found living alone in a collapsing mud structure in Nairobi. Abandoned by her children and too frail to work, she survived by begging for food scraps.
Today, thanks to our Elderly Care program, she receives regular food, medication, and companionship. She now sleeps in a clean, safe shelter—surrounded by love and laughter.
“For the first time in years, I feel like I matter. I eat. I pray. I smile.”

“From a Street Addict to a Skilled Carpenter.”
Brian joined a gang at 15 and quickly became trapped in drug addiction. After multiple arrests, he came to MFWAFO’s Youth Rehab program broken and hopeless.
Through counseling, detox, carpentry training, and spiritual mentorship, Brian is now sober, employed, and mentoring others.
“MFWAFO didn’t just help me recover. They gave me purpose.”

After losing her husband, Grace struggled to feed her three children. Through our SACCO and Women’s Empowerment initiative, she learned kiondo weaving and received a microloan.
Now, Grace runs a thriving small business and trains others in her community.
“I was waiting for help. MFWAFO taught me to become the help.”

Mercy’s dream of becoming a doctor nearly died when her father lost his job. Our Scholarship Program stepped in to cover her school fees, supplies, and mentorship.
Today, she’s in her second year of university—on track to become the first doctor in her village.
